Explanation
Only one word, “Prayer,” is inscribed on the monument. No other word can describe the tragedy that the staff on loan from central government offices were killed in the A-bombing. The Trade and Industrial Bureau was then located in the Fukuya Department Store Building, 0.8 km away from the hypocenter. This monument is now in the courtyard of the Joint Government Buildings.
