Explanation

Shintoku Girls' Middle School Monument

Derived from the religion of the school, the Buddhist term “Pãramitã” is inscribed on the monument, which means accomplishment of profound wisdom. According to the records, the number of the A-bomb victims related to this school was 11 staff members and 374 students. “Shintoku-gakuen, August 3rd, 1959” can be read on the back of the monument.
