It still stands here.

Shudo-gakuen was started as a boys school in 1726 by Hiroshima feudal lord Asano.

At the time of the A-bombing, many students were mobilized to the Army Ordnance Supply Depot.

The school buildings were damaged, but not burned, as it was 2.5 km away from the hypocenter, however immediate repair was impossible.

It is recorded that about 200 were killed.
