Explanation

Mobilized Students and Teachers of Koryo Middle School Monument

At the time of the A-bombing, the school was located in Ujina-cho, 3 km away from the hypocenter. The auditorium and one of the classroom buildings collapsed. Two staff members and 34 students died.
The monument was erected by Koryo-gakuen and Koryo PTA in 1965.
The school was relocated to Numata in 1973, together with the monument.
